Invitation to the Cornell Hike “Gorges de l’Areuse”
Dear Cornellians and friends of Cornell,
The hike through the Gorge de l’Areuse will presumably be the most attractive hike for the Cornell Club in decades. The pictures in this invitation were taken some weeks ago during an exploration tour and you can judge yourself. The hike will last longer than the time estimated by the map software due to photo breaks and ovations!
Overview of the hike
From our meeting point in Boudry, we will hike through the canyon and have lunch at the Restaurant Champ-du-Moulin.
In the afternoon we will take the high line above the gorge back to Boudry. The hike back offers splendid views of the gorge from above and a glimpse of the Creux du Van. We will also pass the Trois Rods, a small village with a reputed farm.
There is a plan B: Some may want to take the train from Champ-du-Moulin back to Bôle (short hike back to Boudry) or even Neuchâtel.
