The Cornell Club of Switzerland is delighted to invite you to our 40th Annual General Meeting (“AGM”) and 40th Anniversary Thanksgiving Celebration on Saturday, 21 November 2026, at the iconic Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois in Basel.
This year marks a historic milestone as we celebrate 40 years of the Cornell Club of Switzerland. Since 1986, our Club has brought together generations of Cornell alumni, students, families, and friends across Switzerland. We are also particularly honored that, for the first time in our Club’s history, representatives of Cornell University will join us for this special occasion.
Program Highlights: AGM, Art, Connection, & Thanksgiving Celebration
The celebration begins with an exclusive afternoon visit to the Kunstmuseum Basel, Switzerland’s oldest public art museum and home to one of Europe’s finest art collections. Participants will be welcomed by Dr. Elena Filipovic, Director of the Kunstmuseum Basel and a Cornell University alumna, before enjoying two guided tours: one of the museum’s renowned Collection Highlights, personally led by
Dr. Filipovic, and another of the special exhibition Van Gogh, Hodler, and a Cabriolet.
We will then gather at the Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois for our AGM, held in the elegant new Salle des Rois. The evening continues with a champagne reception in the hotel’s historic Library, overlooking Basel’s Old Town, followed by our 40th Anniversary Thanksgiving Gala Dinner featuring a gourmet three-course menu centered around the traditional Thanksgiving turkey. We are especially grateful to Mark Jacob, General Manager of the Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois and a fellow Cornell alumnus, for his warm hospitality in hosting this special celebration.
