The Cornell Club of Switzerland warmly invites you to join us for International Zinck’s Night 2025, on Thursday, 16 October 2025, at 18:30, a tradition that unites Cornellians worldwide in honor of Theodore Zinck, the legendary Ithaca saloonkeeper whose tavern was a beloved gathering place for students in the late 19th century. This year we have the opportunity to celebrate in both Geneva and Zurich.
Our Zurich gathering will take place at the distinguished Savoy Brasserie & Bar in the Mandarin Oriental Savoy, right in Paradeplatz.
With its Gatsby-inspired ambiance and international flair, the Savoy Brasserie sets the stage for an evening of camaraderie, cultural exchange, and professional networking among fellow Cornellians.
In Geneva, Cornellians will gather at the Ruby Claire Bar, a stylish venue on the lively Rue du Rhône. With its cosmopolitan flair and global influences, the Ruby Bar offers the perfect setting to celebrate Zinck’s Night together.
What is International Zinck’s Night?
For more than a century, this annual event has honored the spirit of Theodore Zinck, an iconic Ithaca saloonkeeper who was beloved by Cornell students in the late 1800s. Zinck’s tavern was a favorite gathering place for students to unwind and socialize. Today, Zinck’s Night has evolved into a worldwide celebration where Cornellians gather in cities across the globe to share stories, memories, and the lasting bond of the Big Red community.

On the third Thursday of October, Cornellians from all corners of the world — from New York to London, Tokyo to Zurich — host local meetups, raising a glass in honor of this shared tradition.
