Celebrating Asparagus Season In Style

27 May 2023 – Efringen-Kirchen DE  (near Basel)

It’s “Spargelzeit” – asparagus season – in this part of the world. For those who have lived here for a while, no further explanation is necessary. Newcomers might not yet have experienced this culinary highlight, which is only available in April through mid-June of each year. Here you can read a National Geographic article “Calling all Foodies …” to find out more!

Markgräfler Wine and Asparagus Evening

Our event will start with a visit to the well-known Ziereisen winery, where we will sample a number of the wines produced there.

The Ziereisens are known for producing outstanding Pinot Noir and Chasselas (also called Gutedel or Fendant), and a little Syrah, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, etc. Learn more about this family winery here.

This will be followed by a traditional asparagus dinner (white asparagus, various hams, potatoes, Hollandaise sauce, mayonnaise, and “Kratzte”) at Walsers Landhotel & Restaurant. The cost of the dinner includes all drinks and dessert.
