A Journey Through Time Beneath St. Pierre Cathedrale
On 25 April 2026, members and friends of the Cornell Club of Switzerland explored the archaeological site beneath St. Pierre Cathedral in Geneva’s Old Town.
Guided along atmospheric walkways, participants discovered over 2,000 years of history, from pre-Christian settlements to the early cathedral. The tour featured ancient wells, a paleo-Christian baptistery, and Roman and medieval remains.
The outing continued above ground with a relaxed evening of sightseeing and dinner, making it a wonderful opportunity for alumni and friends to connect while enjoying Geneva’s rich history and vibrant Old Town.
Many thanks to Kirk (M.S. '88, Ph.D. '01) for organizing such a memorable event!
