The Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) is a prominent global health institute affiliated with the University of Basel. It prioritizes addressing health issues in low- and middle-income countries through a combination of research, education, and services. With a diverse team of over 800 individuals from 80 nations, Swiss TPH concentrates on infectious and non-communicable diseases, environmental and societal factors influencing health, and health systems and interventions at local, national, and international levels.

Exploring Particle Science at CERN

Twenty-one members of the Cornell Club of Switzerland embarked on a fascinating tour of groundbreaking particle physics research at CERN on Saturday, 27 January 2024.
We explored the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the world’s largest and most powerful particle accelerator, and the ATLAS detector.

Cornell takes role in advancing software at CERN

Cornell, in collaboration with other U.S. universities, has been awarded $25 million from the National Science Foundation (NSF) for another five years of research at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN in Switzerland.
Cornell is currently leading an upgrade to the CMS detector.
