Cornell Club of Germany Weekend Invitation

The Cornell Club of Germany has kindly extended an invitation to members of the Cornell Club of Switzerland to join their 35th annual Cornell Weekend, an enduring tradition that brings alumni together for a memorable mix of culture, connection, and discovery.

Taking place from Friday, 15 May to Sunday, 17 May 2026 in the charming city of Mainz, this year’s program offers a rich and engaging experience. Highlights include a presentation on the history of Mainz, a guided tour through its historic old town, and a scenic Rhine river cruise featuring the legendary Loreley. The weekend will also feature a special dinner with remarks from Prof. Dr. Georg Krausch, President of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz.

This promises to be a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with fellow alumni, explore one of Germany’s most historic regions, and experience the warm hospitality of our German Cornell community.

The Cornell Club of Switzerland is delighted to continue a cherished tradition with the 12th Annual Mountain Weekend in Pontresina on 4–5 July 2026, one of the Club’s most anticipated gatherings of the year. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Engadine, the weekend brings together alumni and friends for a memorable blend of alpine elegance, outdoor adventure, and warm camaraderie.

Guests will enjoy a cocktail reception and refined dinner at the historic Grand Hotel Kronenhof, as well as a variety of optional activities ranging from scenic hikes to relaxing spa experiences, with family-friendly options ensuring something for everyone.

A heartfelt thank you to Christophe (LL.M. '00) and his lovely wife, Maria, for their impeccable planning, and to Claudio Laager, the hotel’s General Manager, for welcoming our Club year after year with generous preferred pricing and exceptional hospitality.

A Journey into Cezanne’s World

The Cornell Club of Switzerland recently enjoyed an inspiring cultural outing to the Fondation Beyeler for a private guided tour of the remarkable Paul Cezanne exhibition at Fondation Beyeler. This exceptional exhibition brings together around 80 masterpieces from the final phase of Paul Cezanne’s career, offering a vivid exploration of his groundbreaking use of color, light, and form that helped shape modern art.

Members were treated to an enriching experience with a private tour guide that deepened their appreciation of Cezanne’s artistic legacy, followed by a convivial dinner that was a warm way to end the evening.

A special thank you to Bernie for organizing this fantastic event and for bringing our community together for such an enjoyable experience!
