SUMMARY:40th AGM and Anniversary Thanksgiving Celebration 2026 – Basel
DESCRIPTION:  Dear Cornellians and Friends of Cornell,   The Cornell Club of Switzerland is delighted to invite you to our 40th Annual General Meeting (“AGM”) and Anniversary Thanksgiving Celebration on Saturday, 21 November 2026, at the prestigious Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois in Basel, preceded by an exclusive cultural visit to the Kunstmuseum Basel.   This year's celebration is particularly special as we commemorate 40 years of the Cornell Club of Switzerland. Since its founding in 1986, our Club has brought together generations of Cornell alumni, students, families, and friends across Switzerland. To mark this milestone, we have prepared a memorable program combining world-class art, Cornell connections, and our traditional Thanksgiving celebration. Participants will enjoy an exclusive visit to the Kunstmuseum Basel, including a personal welcome and guided tour by its Director, Dr. Elena Filipovic, a Cornell University alumna, before gathering at the iconic Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois on the banks of the Rhine in Basel's Old Town. We are especially grateful to Mark Jacob, General Manager of the Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois and a fellow Cornell alumnus, for his warm hospitality in hosting this special celebration.   Adding to the significance of the occasion, for the first time in the history of our Club, we will be joined by representatives of Cornell University. We are particularly honored to welcome Michelle Vaeth ’98, Associate Vice President for Alumni Affairs, and Amanda Christofferson Hatcher, Director of International Alumni Relations, Cornell University. Their presence will make this anniversary celebration an even more memorable and special event.   Details of the day's festivities can be found below. Please note that the registration deadline is 15 November 2026. While we will do our best to accommodate late registrations, we cannot guarantee availability. Advance payment through our website is required.   As in previous years, we are pleased to welcome friends from the AlpAdria & Eastern Europe Chapter of the Cornell Hotel Society, as well as members of the Cornell Clubs of France and Germany. Cornellians and friends visiting Switzerland are warmly invited to join us for this special celebration.   To celebrate our 40th Anniversary, active (dues-paying) members of the Cornell Club of Switzerland will benefit from a special CHF 40.00 anniversary subsidy towards the cost of the reception and gala dinner.
