SUMMARY:2026 Annual Hike – From Lyss to Lake Biel
DESCRIPTION:Thanks to the thoughtful planning of Jürg, this year’s traditional Cornell Club of Switzerland hike will take us through the beautiful Bernese Seeland region, from Lyss to Lake Biel via historic Aarberg and the scenic Hagneck Canal.   Our route combines charming towns, peaceful waterways, and fascinating Swiss engineering history. We will stroll through the picturesque old town of Aarberg before continuing along the canal toward Lake Biel, enjoying open landscapes, rich birdlife, and the impressive fish ladder at Hagneck. At the end of the hike, participants will have the option to relax with refreshments at Hagneck-sur-Mer.   The full details of this hike are listed below.   Please register by 1 September 2026 — although there is no cost, your registration helps us plan for group size, timing, and logistics.   Whether you are drawn by the history, the scenery, or the Cornell company, we hope you will join us for what promises to be another memorable and joyful day together.
